Frequently asked questions

I have flown many times but have recently developed a fear, how will your course help me?

We have been running courses for nearly twenty years, and have seen many people with different fears over that time. With this enormous experience we have been able to develop a course that assists those who have flown many times as well as first time flyers. The team of helpers has enormous experience at helping people overcome their fears.

I am claustrophobic. Is your course relevant to helping me overcome my fear?

Over the years several thousand people who are claustrophobic or who suffer from a fear of heights have attended our course. During the afternoon session our Harley Street Clinical Psychologist explains why we suffer from these types of fear and how to control them. You will also be taught relaxation techniques that you can put into practice on the flight.

How successful is your course?

Having had over 35,000 people attend the course we now have good evidence of how successful the courses are, and we have a 95% success rate. Although, we always stress to people that overcoming a fear may take longer than just one day which is why we advise people to contact us to talk through their fears.

I notice there are alternative courses run by other airlines why should I attend yours?

We were the first fear of flying course in the UK and therefore we have developed a course and built up a team that really understands your fears and anxieties. We want to change your attitude to flying and our experience over the years has taught us how best to achieve this goal.

Before I book I would like to talk to somebody about my fears.

You can call the office or send us an email and we will call you back. When you contact us you will either talk to Capt. Peter Hughes, Managing Director of Aviatours or one of the team. Whoever you speak to they all attend the courses so they will able to offer advice and reassurance. Everything is treated in confidence.

I am attending the course, but can I bring my partner.

We offer a flight only option for the friends or family of those attending the course. This option is also available to people who have attended the course in the past and are looking for a 'top up'. The cost of the flight only is £95 inc VAT.
